We are people whom God has brought together—three colleagues with a passion for God and a vision for spiritual restoration. 

Employing our gifting, knowledge and experience, we desire to facilitate spiritual formation as presenters of this workshop in all people through and emphasis on gifting and deployment of the body of Christ.

Dori Sear is our Director. She is a genuine leader with a knack for synthesizing information and applying solutions to organizations. She has a deep heart for people and has a personal approach to professional growth by identifying the “white spaces” where healthy relational dynamics flourish. As a gifted listener and discerner, she is a natural developer of people. She served at Southern Gables Church (SGC) in Littleton, Colorado for in multiple roles for 13 years, including Director of Spiritual Formation, Adult Communities, Life Groups, and Women’s Ministries. She also wrote sermon support materials for small groups with the church. Prior to SGC, Dori spent 15 years in business marketing before taking time at home to raise her family.

Dori is the author of All Consuming Fire, Spiritual Formation from Head to Heart, written to stimulate engagement with God through His Word and conversations among friends, mentors, and small groups.


Dr. Elisabeth Sbanotto has a passion for education and training her students to learn to help other people face the major challenges in spiritual formation and mental health.  Dr. Sbanotto is Assistant Professor of Counseling at Denver Seminary and also does counseling and corporate consulting. She received her BA in interpersonal communication from the University of Northern Iowa, her MA in Counseling from Denver Seminary, and her PhD in counselor education from the University of Arkansas.

Before coming to Denver Seminary, Dr. Sbanotto was an assistant professor at John Brown University and maintained a private counseling practice in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She has taught courses in family communication, group theory, counseling techniques, and family law. Previously, she served as Interim Consulting Director and a counselor at the REALIS Christian Center in Ukraine.

Steve Tonkin is President of Steve Tonkin and Company and Managing Partner of EvalQ Technologies. He develops person-centered training and software solutions for corporations, healthcare systems and disability-focused agencies, financial services utilizing his intrinsic motivation model. His work seeks to translate the best available research into practical “how-to” solutions.


Steve earned a BA in Youth Ministry from Colorado Christian University, a Master of Divinity from Denver Seminary, and an advanced accounting certificate from the College of DuPage, in Illinois.
